Monarch Restoration was recently named Small Business of the Year by The Chamber St. Matthews. It’s an honor we genuinely didn’t see coming, and one that means a great deal to us and our team.
About The Chamber St. Matthews
For those unfamiliar, The Chamber St. Matthews has been one of Louisville’s most active business organizations since 1955. With more than 1,800 members across industries, it’s one of the largest chambers in all of Kentucky — and one of the most respected.
Every year, the Chamber recognizes standout businesses at its annual awards event. The Small Business of the Year award goes to a member business with under 100 employees that has demonstrated excellence, community commitment, and impact. Nominees are reviewed by the Chamber’s awards committee, and the winner is chosen from the full membership.
It’s not a popularity contest. It’s a recognition of how a business shows up, for its clients, its community, and the people around it.
What This Means to Us
When Austin and Kansas started Monarch Restoration, the whole idea was simple: be the kind of company you’d actually want showing up at your house on the worst day of your year.
That means being honest when other contractors aren’t. It means explaining what you’re doing and why. It means answering the phone at 2 a.m. when someone’s basement is flooding, and following through until the job is done right.
We’ve never chased volume. We’ve chased trust. And to have that recognized by the business community we’ve served for over a decade, in St. Matthews and across Louisville, means more than we can really put into words.
The award plaque reads: “In appreciation of dedication, connection, and service to our Chamber community.” That’s what we’ll keep trying to be.
